Pin Up Show: Featured the work of Anita Stewart.. 25 Artist's Mini
Shows in One. Two 6 ft art works one on screen, connected shapes +
20 never shown before from years of journaling. City Gallery East

August 31-November
28, 2007: Anita held a solo show at the Gwinnett
Courthouse in Lawrenceville, GA under the direction of the Pickneyville
Arts Center. The solo show, "African Quilts" featured paintings from her trip to South Africa. Layered paintings using iridescent pigments of guinea
fowl, cave paintings and African flora are included in the

September 2007: Anita
exhibited as part of the Buford Artists Group Show at Binders Art Supply in
Buckhead.

Greetings from Out of Africa
May 2007-
A memoir of Anita's South African trip was on display at the Church
of the Atonement in Atlanta ,GA. A
quilt like display includes paintings of fangi pani, rock art,
guineas , kooties and other surprises from Africa. The artwork
completed while on her trip to South Africa is brimming with life.
(She's working on another quilt entitled: South
Africa: Skins Now and Then -watch for it)

Other News:
"Old-Tyme Buford"
Recent commissions include a painting of Old-tyme Buford for Gwinnett County.
Additionally, this commission led to a new portrait commission (see below.) For

Greg Knight (May 13, 1976 - July 30, 2008)
Anita was
thrilled to be given the opportunity to render a race car for Greg Knight. Greg
was just at delighted to see his customized artwork come to life.

the Gregory K. Knight, Jr. family. Greg will be missed. |

Major RC Davis was the
recent recipient of a very special retirement gift.
This portrait, painted by Anita ,was purchased by his fellow
officers. A
reception was held for Major Davis at the North Precinct near
the Mall of
Georgia in Buford. Anita was honored by an invitation to join in
the
celebration.
